The 2nd Three Countries Buddhist Summit of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia 2023 - The Committee for Sangha Foreign Affairs Participated in the Three Countries Buddhist Summit.From December 24 to 27, 2023, the Most Venerable Dr. Dhamrong Phimmajak, the Permanent Member of the Supreme Sangha Cabinet and the Director-General of the Committee for Sangha Foreign Affairs of the Central Buddhist Fellowship Organization of Lao PDR (CBFOL), together with Venerable Anand, a member of the same committee, travelled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to participate in the 2nd Three Countries Buddhist Summit of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.The trip to this summit was greatly appreciated by His Holiness Mahabounma Simmaphom, the President of the CBFOL. Among them, there were also the Most Venerable Vice-President, the Most Venerable Director-General of the Headquarters Office, the Most Venerable Director-General of the Committee for Sangha Administration, the Most Venerable President of Savannakhet Province’s Buddhist Fellowship Organization, and 14 other Most Venerable monks. There were also Mr. Khanonglith Sisomboun, Director General of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Lao Front for National Development, and Mr. KhamNgyiem Sangsuliya, Deputy of the Department of Ethnicity and Religion of the Ministry of Home Affairs, who also travelled to the summit.The summit was officially opened by the president of the Buddhist organization of each country, who made a speech and emphasized the importance of the Buddhist summit of three countries, which was held for the second time, after the first one in Vientiane, Lao PDR, in 2018. This summit was a successful result of the first one and then we continued to enhance its value and meaning in a wider scope by focusing on cooperation to propagate the teachings of the Buddha far and wide for the benefit of all mankind.
